Because I'm a web developer/programmer, I sometimes feel like I should build my own applications instead of simply using some of the popular tools on the web. For example, when I first stumbled across Flickr, I thought it was a pretty simple and straightforward application, yet I would just create my own "version" one day. Why? Well because I just wanted too.

Then, a few days went by, which turned into weeks, which eventually turned into years! I guess that's what happens when you're constantly working on other people's projects, eh? However, over that time I've dabbled and tried other sites offering similar services including the newer Adobe® Photoshop® Express(beta).

Well, having family spread out all over the world (my brother lives in India!) and knowing they're interested in seeing pictures of my family and such, I finally started (officially this time) my Flickr account.

If you're a NIN fan, then you'll be excited to know that Trent Reznor is giving away his new album, The Slip as a way to thank his fans for their "continued and loyal support over the years." Not just a track, which is already free at Facebook, (I first heard about it from Raymond Camden), but the ENTIRE album!

I, for one, am blown away by his generosity. Especially amidst all of the lawsuits and publicity concerning illegal downloading and file-sharing.

I personally would have been willing to pay for my album, but this has given me an idea. Maybe if each person who receives the album would donate say $5 or $10 to a local food bank, or charity, then we could perpetuate his kindness.
